The colonial town is located between the ocean and the Guamuhaya Mountains, historically know as El Escambray. In the San Luis Valley or de los Ingenios, barely 15 km away, dozens of archeological sites are preserved, including the ruins of the sugar factories and the impressive 45-meter-high Manaca-Iznaga Tower. Besides, the Ancón Península is located some 10 km from the townshipand and has several beaches and hotels, and international scuba diving center and a nautical base. Also Topes de Collantes offers special conditions that are perfect for hiking, including the Caburní waterfalls. Also, there, the Kurhotel is a recognized center of health tourism.
